STARTING-UP
We started investing in 2003 using our own and “family & friends” funding to acquire residential real estate in the Johannesburg CBD.
We achieved superior returns and in the process we:

Built a cumulative portfolio of about 1,000 units across the city;

Started a Property Management Company managing a 29-building portfolio; AND
-
Started a Property Development Company to develop our own properties
During this time we also invested in the following businesses:
- Consumer goods distribution;

Sasol fuel retail sites;

Transport and logistics; and

The tourism industry – hotel developments, like the Reef Hotel.

RECENT.
VENTURING AND EXPANDING
The Fuel Company (TFC) with over 80+ sites, with revenues of over R12 billion, employing over 3,600+ people. (www.thefuelcompany.co.za)
We ADDED VALUE to our investments and have GROWN our fuel retail investment to create.
The company is a truly transformed enterprise with employees as shareholders through an employee investment trust whose beneficiaries are majority black. The return on this investment to date is 40X.
We PARTNERED with Scania to start a Limpopo and Mozambique regional dealership, ADDING VALUE through our entrepreneurial efforts, and in the process GROWING the business 30x in 3 years.
We invested in hospitality through hotels: Sand River Resort
We formed the Musina International Terminal (MIT) to provide infrastructure for road-to-rail cargo operations to and from the SADC region. (www.mithub.co.za)
We have invested into a convenience retail property platform through a joint venture with the Buffett Investment Group we are focused on growing.
