Honouring Our Heritage: Celebrating 20 Years of Lionshare Pride

This year, as Lionshare marks 20 years of service, growth and impact, we took Heritage Day as an opportunity to reflect on where we come from and to celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that shape who we are as a company and as individuals.
Heritage Day has always been more than a public holiday. It is a reminder of our shared identity and the unique traditions that unite us under one nation. At Lionshare, we believe that understanding one another’s roots helps us build stronger teams and deeper connections and this year, our people truly lived out that belief.
A Week of Celebration Across Our Group
The One Moment Foundation led the way by hosting a community event in a rural area, preparing meals over open fires and spending the day connecting with families in need. This act of service perfectly captured the essence of Ubuntu, the belief that “I am because we are.”
Meanwhile, the Sand River Resort team took a more hands-on cultural journey of their own. They hiked into the mountains, gathered firewood, and cooked traditional meals from scratch, embracing a sense of togetherness and gratitude that has always defined our people.
Across the group, colleagues celebrated in their own creative ways, from team lunches and cultural showcases to heartfelt gestures of appreciation. Some even swapped traditional outfits with one another, proudly wearing their colleagues’ cultural attire as a sign of respect, unity and shared pride.

These moments weren’t just symbolic; they were a reflection of what Lionshare stands for. For two decades, we’ve built a culture anchored in inclusivity, pride and collective strength. Through this Heritage celebration, we reaffirmed our values of Ubuntu, integrity, teamwork and growth, principles that have guided us through our 20-year journey and continue to shape the road ahead.
